New Researchers Conference in Asia: Following the success of the 1st European New Researchers Conference, the 1st Asian New Researchers Conference was held in Hong Kong on June 17–18, 2026, immediately after the IMS-APRM 2026 meeting, and in conjunction with the HKU 2026 Summer Workshop on Statistics and Data Analytics. The first day featured talks by invited senior researchers; the second included a talk by Professor Tony Cai, and short presentations, posters, networking, and panels on publishing, grants, collaboration, and mentoring for early-career researchers. The panelists included Jiguo Cao, Aurore Delaigle, Jian Huang, Linglong Kong, Hongtu Zhu, Xi Chen, and Rongfeng Sun. The event attracted approximately 60 junior researchers. Bernoulli–IMS New Researchers Mixer at the IMS Annual Meeting:
Together with the Bernoulli Young Researchers’ Committee, we organized a joint reception for students and early-career researchers at the IMS Annual Meeting. We had nine senior mentors who led “mentoring tables” labeled with specific conversation topics to help guide casual discussions with junior faculty, postdocs, and students. The seniors who kindly served as mentors were Peter Bühlmann, Mathias Drton, Zijian Guo, Liza Levina, Gabor Lugosi, Kavita Ramanan, Nancy Reid, Cindy Rush, and Richard Samworth. This event engaged in total 40 young researchers.
