Richard De Veaux, professor of statistics at Williams College, has been elected as the American Statistical Association’s Vice-President. His term begins January 1, 2019. He will serve alongside Wendy Martinez, director of the Mathematical Statistics Research Center at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, who was elected the 115th president of the ASA. In addition, Mark Glickman of Harvard University was elected as the Council of Sections Governing Board Representative to the ASA Board, with Alyson Wilson as Vice Chair; and Ofer Harel of the University of Connecticut as chair-elect of the Council of Sections Governing Board.
