The 2018 Carver Medal is awarded to Byeong Uk Park, for his efforts and dedication in heading the local organizing committee of the inaugural Asian Pacific Rim Meeting in Seoul in 2009, and in chairing the scientific program committee of the two next meetings in 2012 and 2014, thereby establishing this meeting as a regular part of IMS conference series that has increased the presence of IMS in this region.
