Joel B. Greenhouse, Professor of Statistics in the Department of Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University, was invited to present the inaugural Rod Little Distinguished Lecture in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan. The award honors the many significant contributions to the statistical sciences of Rod Little, the Richard Remington Distinguished University Professor of Biostatistics. Greenhouse’s lecture, entitled Statistical Thinking and Public Health, was presented at a symposium that also celebrated the 75th anniversary of the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health in September.
