We are pleased to announce the eleven winners of the new IMS Hannan Graduate Student Travel Awards, who will be using their awards to travel to present a paper or a poster at five different IMS sponsored or co-sponsored meetings over the next 12 months.

Prakash Chakraborty, Purdue University, USA will be attending SPA 2018, the 40th Conference on Stochastic Processes and Their Applications, in Gothenburg, Sweden, from June 11–15.

Also June 11–15 this year is the 4th Conference of the International Society for NonParametric Statistics in Salerno, Italy. Attending this meeting will be Kellie Ottoboni, University of California, Berkeley, USA.

Ewain Gwynne (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA) and Ronan Herry (LAMA in Paris-Est and MRU in Luxembourg) will both travel to the IMS annual meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania (July 2–6). All the travel award winners will be mentioned in the Presidential Address and Awards Ceremony at this meeting, on the Monday evening, along with the winners of the IMS Travel Awards that were announced in the previous issue.

A further six travel awardees will be using their funds to travel to JSM in Vancouver, July 28–August 2. They are: Xiaowu Dai, University of Wisconsin–Madison, USA; Luella Fu, University of Southern California, USA; Chengchun Shi, North Carolina State University, USA; Jingshen Wang, University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, USA; Kashif Yousuf, Columbia University, USA; and Yuanyuan Zhang, University of Manchester, UK.

Finally, a Hannan award will enable Yifan Cui, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA, to travel to next year’s ENAR meeting, which takes place March 24–27, 2019, in Philadelphia, USA.
