Alexandre Bouchard-Côté

The Institute of Mathematical Statistics has selected Alexandre Bouchard-Côté as the winner of the 2016 Tweedie New Researcher Award.

Alexandre received his PhD in 2010 from the University of California, Berkeley, and is currently Assistant Professor of Statistics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver: see http://www.stat.ubc.ca/~bouchard/. The IMS Travel Awards Committee selected Alexandre “for his excellence in work at the interface of probabilistic modeling, Monte Carlo inference, Bayesian statistics and machine learning, and for his contributions to statistical and computational methods in phylogenetics and natural language processing.”

Alexandre will present the Tweedie New Researcher Invited Lecture at the IMS New Researchers Conference (University of Wisconsin–Madison, July 28–30).
